SUMMARY
The 8 Days Best of Uganda Tour takes you to the largest National parks in Uganda these are Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national parks. It also introduces you to Kibale Forest national park which is home for approximately 13 primate species and hundreds of birds species. The tour also has a great mix beautiful landscapes.
DAY 1: Arrival in Uganda
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and after finalizing the immigration formalities, you shall be welcomed by our guide who will then drive you to your accommodation. Depending on your time of arrival you may choose an optional activity to do around Entebbe town. Overnight: victoria view hotel
DAY 2: Drive to Murchison national park via Rhinos Ziwa sanctuary
After breakfast you shall start your tour by driving through Kampala to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. There you shall have a walking Safari to the Southern White Rhinos that have been re-introduced in Uganda. In the afternoon you will drive to the legendary Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s biggest National Park. Overnight at Murchison River lodge
DAY 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat ride
After an early breakfast, proceed for a game drive inside Murchison falls National park. This is a beautiful drive across savannah, Borassus Palm Forest and grasslands down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. Drive in search for Lions, Leopard, Hyena, Buffalo, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest. Oribi, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs and enjoy spotting various Bird species. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride on the Nile, to Murchison falls, whence the park derives its name. Enjoy these spectacular falls by hiking to the top of the falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7 meter gap. Overnight at Murchison River Lodge
DAY 4: Drive to Fort Portal town
After breakfast, you will embark on a long drive to Fort Portal. Along the way you will pass many tea plantations. You have the opportunity to stop there for photo moments. In the evening you will arrive at your accommodation and take a deserved rest. Overnight at Rwenzori View Guest House
DAY 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp visit
Today you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park: the chimpanzees. With over 1,450 individuals protected within the park, Kibale forest is home to the largest number of the endangered chimpanzees in Uganda as well as the threatened red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. The forest has one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species including the black and white colobus, blue monkey and grey-cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey, bush babies and pottos. In the afternoon after tracking, you have the opportunity for a guided walk through the swamps of Bigodi. After the fascinating walk you have the choice of relaxing in the accommodation or community walk in a village nearby. Alternatively, you can visit a school in the local community, talk to the students and teachers and participate in the lessons. Overnight at Rwenzori View Guest House
DAY 6: Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast you will drive today to the world-famous Queen Elizabeth National Park, crossing the equator along the way. You shall have an evening game drive upon arrival at the park. Queen Elizabeth National park boasts of very high biodiversity capacities due different habitats of fauna that it has. Overnight at Elephant Hub Lodge
DAY 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
You will have an early Morning Game Drive. There are over 100 mammal species that include Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Elephants and the elusive Giant Forest Hog in this park. The Primates include Chimps, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black faced Red Colobus, and Red tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. In the afternoon, you will have a boat ride on Kazinga Channel. DAY 8: Drive to Entebbe and departure
After an early breakfast, you will start your journey back to Entebbe. Cross the equator and have time to take photos at the equator. You may also buy souvenirs and some fruits along the way. Later you will depart for the Airport and take your flight back home.
