Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Meet your safari guide and leave Entebbe/Kampala in the morning for your Queen Elizabeth safari. The target for the day is Queen Elizabeth National park. Our first stop on the way is by the equator to get the experience of standing with one foot on either side of the southern- and northern hemisphere. Continue on for lunch in the town of Mbarara and then do the last part of the journey through rolling hills with tea plantations. Arrive at the lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 2: Game-drive in Ishasha and Boat-cruise on Kazinga channel

Get up early in the morning for the adventurous drive to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. In Ishasha you can see topis, buffaloes and have the highlight of searching for the tree-climbing lions resting in the fig trees. After finishing the game-drive head back to the main part of Queen Elizabeth National Park for the afternoon boat-cruise on Kazinga channel. During this 2 hour boat ride you have the chance of spotting hippos, crocodiles, birds and elephants by the shores of the Kazinga channel. After the boat-cruise your guide takes you back to the lodge.

Day 3: Chimps trekking in Kalinzu forest and game-drive in Kasenyi

Start the day off with chimps trekking in Kalinzu forest. Here you will get a walk in beautiful jungle and the excitement of seeing chimpanzees. Go back to the lodge after the trek for lunch and a bit of relaxation before heading to the Kasenyi part of Queen Elizabeth for an afternoon game-drive. Soak up the last of this great nature experience before heading back to the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

After your breakfast your guide will lead to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Enjoy the changing landscape as the car slowly climbs up towards the misty mountains of the gorillas.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking day

You have now reached a highlight of this Discover Uganda safari; the gorilla trekking day. Your guide will take you to the starting point of the gorilla trekking in the morning and you set of for your adventure. The trek takes you through the jungle up to the point where the gorillas are and you get to spent one hour with them. When you are back from the gorilla trekking your guide takes you to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 6: Relax by Lake Bunyonyi

Have a free day by Lake Bunyonyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the lake is free of hippos, crocodiles and bilharzia), go for a hike or just relax with a book.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast you start off with your guide towards Lake Mburo national park. A landscape of rolling green hills will pass by the windows before you reach the town of Mbarara for lunch and then continue to the lodge in Lake Mburo national park.

Day 8: Safari-walk and game-drive

Start the day early with a safari-walk in Lake Mburo national park. Get the experience of being one with nature as you see the animals close by during the walk. Have breakfast at the lodge and relax a bit before lunch. After lunch in the afternoon it is time for your game-drive in the park, here you can see impalas and zebras. Get back to the lodge to enjoy your last evening in Uganda’s national parks on this Discover Uganda safari.

Day 9: Transfer to Kampala

Have a relaxed breakfast and then start the journey to Kampala. Make a stop along the way for lunch at the Equator and take the chance to stand with one foot on either side on the southern and northern hemisphere. After the last part of the drive to Kampala.
